Any one know how to lock the 'Force Text Horizontal' for dimensions so that new dimensions are created with text horizontal by default, and not aligned to the dimension as it is now ?
Its a huge pain in the ass to go and click 'Force Text Horizontal' every time a new dimension is created.
I use a macro that basically calls a dimensions template file. All I have to do is select what I want dimensions on and hit the letter "d" and bam dimensions are dropped in. I have both dimension (width & height) text already setup to have horizontal text. One of the best macros I've ever made. I'd share it but it's kind of primitive and complex. Use a series of other macros I made and you have to have the template file. It also uses a series of SendKeys that would have to be modified to fit your setup.

select dimension tool, set all parameters you want first then hit "Save Setting As Default" under tools.
Hello suku; My Dimension lines follows text when inlarged if measured end to end, but X7 doesn't follow to centers of a object as the older ver. as screen shot below.

There is a problem with Dimensions. For some reason the defaults do not stick all the time. Also the defaults that you create are document related. Even if you 'Save Settings As Default' this only applies to new documents. The minute you open a file from an old version these settings revert to the Application Defaults, not your preferred defaults. IMO this is wrong headed. If I decide I do not want my text centred, then I dont want it to change back just because I open an old file (even an old file that has no dimensions).
It is very annoying. Be especially careful after having opened an old version document, changed any other default, then 'Save Settings As Default' you will revert your dimension defaults to Application defaults and there seems to be no way of preventing this.

I have found that Object Styles is a life saver for these problems.
I set up my defaults and save them as shown
And when I open an old document or a document loses it's religion and forgets its dimensions completely I hit revert to New Documents Defaults, problem solved.
Hope this helps.
