Image rotating 90° after Exporting as an EPS file

CorelDRAW X7

Hello all,

We currently have a problem with one of our customers who is setting our a design to be printed on a large format Mimaki print and cut system. However, when Exporting as an EPS file (which is required for the RIP software) the image appears to rotate 90°.

For example, the image may be 500mm wide. It is the exported as an EPS. When imported in to the RIP software, or back in to CorelDRAW the image has rotated 90°.

There does not seem to be any obvious settings that we can see to cause such a problem.

I have tried resetting CorelDRAW. I have also uninstalled CorelDRAW and ran CCLEANER to clear any old temp files etc and then reinstalled CorelDRAW X7 but this has not resolved the problem.

I am wondering whether there may be a registry file somewhere that has a setting causing this problem.

The problem also occurs in CorelDRAW X6 which is interesting. Could the problem be related to a Windows update which occurred on the 7th Feb? The problem did not occur before this as far as we are aware.

Regards,
Rob

  • Is the size close to the maximum width of the printer?

If it is, maybe cropmarks or other printers marks are extending the size of the image so that either CorelDraw or the printer driver thinks that the image cannot be printed without rotating it.

Also remember that if terms such as landscape and portrait are being show, they are a bit ambiguous when printing to a roll fed device.
