Converting Files made with X7 to X5

Hello All,

Question: Having created a couple of files - images in black, plus red cutlines, for use with a laser cutter, I find that the CorelDraw version X7 is not compatible with the laser cutter, which runs X5. Is there any way we can 'devolutionise' the X7 files to X5?

PS Am a CorelDraw amateur - worked by trial and error, and dimly-remembered Word, so simple replies please.

To save your X7 files as X5 files, as well as converting those already saved in X7, is simple. It will take time, depending upon how many files you have.

Open your files in X7, then once opened, click on Files->Save As... In the dialog, you will see a drop-down selection, right above the Save button, that allows you to select as save the file as a different version, other than X7. Here, you can select X5 as the file format to save the file in.

Thanks Hugh.

I'll ask my kind friend who did this for me, if she has the earlier version loaded. I have a feeling she bought CorelDraw at X7 stage, so may not have any earlier versions. Will forward your good advice, and come back to you if she can't save it as X5.
