Hello,
I have been creating more seamless patterns lately, but would really like to step it up to do more professional looking patterns for surface design. Are there any plug-ins or macros, etc to help with seamless pattern design?
I did see a link for Symmetrical 2 macro,
but I was just seeing if there is anything out there as well that gears towards surface design? Thanks in advance for your input!!
I guess it depends on how powerful you need the program to be, and including bitmaps into the mix such as this seamless pattern I did a while ago...post examples on what you consider "more professional looking"...
Nothing really like that example. I need it to be vector and open up as a pattern in illustrator as well. Right now I use the create vector pattern tool, i'm just looking for options to make it easier, and more efficient, professional etc.
These are example of the types of patterns I would like to create.

Using the principle you see here on Design Sponge's site, you can use PowerClip to get your repeat:

Here's a quick example using a floral element from CD clipart. You can add elements to the center after the final tile is created, just avoid the edges to keep the repeat clean.

OK, I see what you are after. I just use a repetitive (equal or non-equal) x,y coordinate grid to generate stuff like this relatively quickly. Power-clipped inside of course.
