I updated to the new X7 thinking it would be better than the previous version... it is not.
We have 4 computers here that use the same program and they all crash at random times.I have been looking for threads with the same issue online and everything I read and tried has not helped so far.I deleted temporary files, restarted the PC, ran a can, ran all possible updates, etc.
HELP!
It's not consistent as to when it crashes and if the files are large or small. Most files are just text only and it still crashes.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
Any help is much appreciated.
I hope you are using a font manager, such as the Bitstream font Manager that is included with the Corel Graphics Suite. You should reduce the 'installed' or active fonts way, way down. When you have a large, large number of fonts installed, it takes more and more Windows resources to control the fonts and font displays. So, having a large number of fonts actively installed, reduces the resources of Windows and increases the O/S'es capability. Use a font manager and reduce the number of active fonts to include all of the standard fonts that were included with your Windows, plus around another 200-400 fonts that you use constantly. All other fonts can be 'installed' and 'un-installed' by the font manager, as you need them.
Another thing you may wish to do, is to clean your system's Temp directory, as the number of abandoned temp files and temp directories (with abandoned files in them) grow over time, and it takes a lot of Windows resources to skim through and find the appropriate active temp file, as required from the application program requesting file read/write access.
Can you describe a typical file, height, width. Do you use lots of images, drop shadows? What resolution are you using for the file? Do you resample imported images to the proper resolution for their placed size?
