Fountain Fills to PDF

Back in X5, when I printed a radial fountain fill (consisting of 2 spot colors) to pdf using Acrobat, the result would be one element (using the edit object tool in Acrobat or bringing into Illustrator).

Now in X7, using the identical settings and the same file, the result is a gazzillion separate lines.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a single element?

The fountain fills in X7 are much more sophisticated and now allow transparencies as well as free scale and skew.
Maybe there is something that makes the filter think that the fill is not supported in the PDF file format.

Can we have a look at the CDR you're trying to export?
What Acrobat compatibility mode are you using when exporting?

maybe the reason is the Preset or the Option you choose when create the PDF. Try to Publish as PDF, then choose PDF X/3, and change "compatibility" to Acrobart 8.0 or higher, that should solve your problem

I've tried those and still doesn't work. I also tried using the identical settings as I used to use in X5.
