Cropped images not staying croped

Hi,

I crop images in documents and sometimes, when i print those images, they print uncropped even though on the screen they are showing as cropped - what am I doing wrong / how do I fix this - any help gratefully received - at present i have to save the docs as PDFs to get the cropped versions of images to print!

I've had this happen before, you can't crop bitmaps using Corel Draw's cropping tool, I have to select the bitmap, choose Edit Bitmap... and then Corel Photo-Paint X7 will open and you can crop from there. Once you save it in photo paint and close, the bitmap will update in Corel Draw with the new crop and it should print as is.

the first question is how did you cropped the image (using the Shape Tool, using intersect, using crop tool, using powerclip, etc). Have you tried to convert to bitmap the image afer crop? (bitmap / convert to bitmap)

First off, have you got the latest update. There were problems a while back with cropping not working correctyl which were fixed in an update

Secondly there are two ways to crop a bitmap.

With the shape tool you can edit the boundary to hide parts of the bitmap. The hidden parts should not print or export to pdf. If you return to the shape tool you can edit back to original bitmap. Tip if you want to reset the boundary back to the original bitmap select all nodes and delete.

If you have edited the boundary and maintained a rectangular shape then you can go Bitmap> Crop Bitmap and it will crop to the shape you have chosen. If its a non-rectangular shape you will still have a rectangular crop, its a limitation of the defintion of a bitmap.

You can also use the crop tool on a bitmap. This is permanent and destructive.
