Is it possible to force the fraction symbol in a dimension without setting the object style? I have set the 'replace while typing' option with the fractions added to the list of replacements but they do not apply until I break apart the dimension and add/delete a space. See the snippet and video below.
Curious to know if someone as any idea. I've been trying to figure it out with no luck. I learned that the space can be added after the fraction without breaking apart the dim feature.
not that way, this way
with nothing selected click and hold on the fraction drop down and make your choice then check the highlighted areas, hit ok, then tools/save settings as default
" force the fraction symbol in a dimension without setting the object style? "
There's a reason why I mentioned this in the original post. Here is what happens when I set the style by default using the fraction setting.
mine doesn't do that. I can set it either way as default.

Bravo, Myron! That's an excellent solution!
That can be used in a Character style, and that Character style can be used with an Outline style and a Dimension style to create a Style set to format dimensions.
Done that way, there is no need to change document defaults - and the style set can be imported into other documents any time you want to use it.
