Convert to Palette options missing

Yes, sorry but of course I have scrolled through the list. I only have 'Uniform Colors' and 'RGB palette' and all of the others are custom palette from documents which correspond to XML files in 'C:\Users\PROFILE\Documents\My Palettes'. I do not have any of the other one such as 'Adaptive', and 'Optimized' which are commonly used.

BTW: The custom saved document palettes MUST be defined elsewhere because I removed all XML files from ' My Palettes' jet they all still show up, and work within PhotoPaint. It suggested the predefined ones that I am missing must be defined somewhere. Just need to find it. I have my former X5 profile backed up in a RAR file so must continue hunting...

Okay this is what I discovered. You cannot simply MOVE the XML files in 'C:\Users\PROFILE\Documents\My Palettes' you have to DELETE them. When I did the predefined ones returned.

When I restored the palette XML files, the predefined ones disappeared.

When I restored just a few of the palette XML files then the predefined ones were retained. So the number of saved palettes seems to be the problem.

Now this was not an issue before so what has changed? Being anal about backing up I have kept RAR backups of previous CGS profiles "%APPDATA%\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite *".

Back in X3 custom palettes were stored as *.cpl in "%APPDATA%\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3\User Custom Data\Palettes"

Upgrade to X5 converted *.cpl to *.xml and placed under "..\ Documents\My Palettes". I hadn't notices the issue with X5.

X8 continues storage of custom palettes in "..\ Documents\My Palettes" so the question is how to save custom palettes without losing access to predefined down-sampling palette methods Optimized, Adaptive, etc. ?
