I just installed X8, but now all of my thumbnails in windows explorer are the Corel logo instead of the art preview thumbnail.
How can I fix this?
My point about the uninstall thing isn't that the two versions should not be able to run side by side nor was to suggest a need to uninstall. It is that something is happening with the association process. If you uninstall X7, then install X8, it seems it would not cause any conflict or ambiguity about which suite gets the association with the extension and the shell extensions aren't in conflict. As it is now for many, installing X8 with X7 install winds up with no thumbnails from either. But this is speculation as I haven't tried it. But it is clear SOMETHING about thumbnails isn't right. This has happened in the past and been discussed on these forums to make clear history. I have seen many of the previous rants, all the suggested solutions, many of the tales of failure or success, the calls for third party apps about this issue. Here it is again, one day after X8 is released. It should be spectacularly clear, no matter what an individual thinks about the importance of thumbnails, there are copious amounts of users that view it as pretty damn important. That such a silly thing as reliable, predictable, and legibly visual references to graphic files, (THUMBNAILS,) should be an insurmountably problem for years is ****** up as a football bat.

There's no need to uninstall, I have both versions together without problem. What you shouldn't do is to refresh teh installation of X7, because it will replace the thumbnails and also file assiciations (such as open PhotoPaint X8 as default)
