Re: Closing Curves

Hello everyone,

I am new to CorelDraw and to graphic design in general.  I have been experimenting with CD and got stumped when trying to use fills on objects, specifically curves.  I know you must close a curve before you can apply a fill, but, my question is:  Is there a way to use another curve/path to close a curve.  Basically, I'm trying to freehand some images, thus many curves intersect.  I had been hoping the program would recognized the curves as closed when another curve "graphically closed" it, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work that way.  I have tried combining curves, but it doesn't seem to produce the desired effect.

I'm sorry if my use of terminology is poor.  Thank you in advance.

  • Thanks so much for all the great information. I'll have to try these things once I get home. I had tried to join curves also but maybe I did it wrong. Also, I never noticed the Smart Fill button and I think I had been using Interactive Fill instead. That might be my problem. I'll have to go home and verify. Thanks for everyone's willingness to help a newbie. Happy New Year!
