i use chrome or firefox , my PC is Win7 64 and doesn't want IE11 - is it possible to install X8 without need to instal IE 11 ?
Even the full blown Suite2018 needs Explorer 11!
I see you received no answer to this question.
I too would like to see an answer. I would like to know in general, why Internet Explorer at all? What is the connection or influence that IE(Microsoft) has? So many people today, are very negative towards IE. I personally do not use it...and had to install and update many things just to install Corel. In my opinion it was uneccessary and annoying. You are forcing me to install a program that I don't want on my system. The only thing I HATE about new Corel.
I have just installed the X8 home version. It gives me the minimum requirements for install. One of which is IE11. I do not have IE11 so it comes up highlighted. i just pressed 'Continue' and installed without it. Seems to have loaded correctly and have registered the software using the firefox browser.
Hope it helps.
Pat :)
odd...it would not let me continue until I had updated IE (to v.11)
I am running Win 7. If you are running Win 10, you may already have the basics installed?

Internet Explorer is used by Windows during install, not CorelDRAW. btw it should work with other browsers (I don't use IE and the program show me the messages using Chrome). Maybe the issue is about to have the latest Windows updates (that includes IE11)
You cannot install Corel without an internet connection...and the default internet connection is Windows/IE11
I was not given an option of connecting thru a browser, let alone any other browser.
So, I could not proceed without first installing/updating IE11.
Having the latest Windows updates is the same as saying you have to fully update IE11...lol?
I have other programs that connect via the internet, in the background, for updates and necessary files and they don't use IE11...sometimes I get asked to "allow" a program through the firewall, but they are still not browser dependant.
So Corel is specifically using Windows/IE to make its connection.
