Im adding a logo to something and its in JPG format, I need to remove the white background on it and keep the logo the same, using the erase thing takes to long and messes up the shape.... CAN ANYONE HELP??
Are you sure you are not saving to a format such as jpg that does not support transparency?
But without an example, its not easy to guess what "the black colour inside the image" actually represents.

You're right. It's important to save as another file format, such as TIF, PNG, PSD, CPT, etc. according the use you need (ie for web graphics, for print, etc).
The JPG file dormat doesn't allows to have transparent background
