Hi folks,
For years I have used the clone tool happily which has been great for touching up photo's on Photo-paint 12
A few days ago - imported a jpg into Paint as usual, went to use the clone tool and it just doesn't work any more. I can select the icon and the little circles come up but it just doesn't 'clone' anything. Its as if there is mysterious setting that has been turned on that just makes nothing happen.
I have reinstalled the software: no help - still the same.
Almost screaming at the computer screen now in frustration
Any ideas anyone??!! many thanks in advance.
Dave
I remember that happening with certain tools and I think from memory the file was either black and white or greyscale. The answer was to convert the file to RGB.
Another thing you should check is the paint mode dropdown. If you have changed it away from "normal" (eg to "if darker" or "if lighter") then clone will only change the destination if the selected circumstance applies.
Similarly, check the transparency setting. If set to fully transparent, no cloning will be visible.
Time to reset your workspace. Keep F8 Pressed while launching DRAW and click yes to reset the workspace.
Pune - many thanks! That seems to have done the trick.
Forums are wonderful! Thanks to everyone who responded - (I only tried the tip from Pune as his was the first I opened!)

Anand, not Pune. That's where he lives in India. :)
