Hi,
I’m involved in a software project which is targeting on development of CAD software. Now I have to read vector information from CorelDraw files (.cdr)
Is there anyway to obtain the cdr file format specifications, or is there any third party modules available for that?
(What I’m really interested is extracting the vector information from the Corel Draw file)
Thanks.
The CMX format is supposed to be backward and forward compatible, so if you have the spec from 1998, you should be able to open CMX files from X4. Some new native objects (e.g. tables) would come in as curves.
What are you trying to do with CMX files?
Regards,Hendrik
Trying to use the CMX format to import into out native format. Using the old CMX Browser (8.0) there are tags or data items that to not display correctly thus it's a bit difficult to determine what these are. I don't remember exactly but I think it was in the color table area when there were Spot color entries. It has been awhile (2 yrs if not more) and if the doc were up to date I was going to explore this again.
I will be posting more questions on Spot color palettes using x3.

I don't think the documentation is up to date (can't say for certain), but you should be able to get the old data for tags you don't understand. Colour changed quite a bit in X3. For colours that the old format do not understand it would most likely give the RGB value.
I'm by no means an expert at the CMX format, so I can't provide much more info on it.
I'm really happy you replied. I know I've asked before and even sent emails with no response so I thanks you for at least attempting to answer.
Again thanks
