Corel Draw 7.0 how can i finish the company logo?

Hi,

i want to make a logo with corel draw 7.0(older version not x7!) but i have problems with making a cutout of the squirrel so that the green back colour is the same.

I would be very pleased to get some help how to change the squirrel bitmap with cut or make the same back colour.

Hello Florianoo7; You cold ERASE the green from the Raster image. That will leave just the squirrel in X7. Make sure you have installed All the updates for X7.
I do cut outs a lot for clients that bring in a picture and just want one or two items on a business card. And you can charge for the service. It just depends on how much time you want to spend with it. You can use Cutout lab in PP and dress it up in Draw with the Eraser Tool. You could use the eve dropper Tool and make the oval the same Green as the squirrels back ground also.
Corel DOES SO much Now-A-Days doing graphis Is A Lot Easer.

George,
this section of the Corel forums is specifically for older versions of Corel. When someone asks a question about usage of an older version, gloating about how easy the task can be accomplished in the more recent version, and advising to upgrade is really not very helpful. Older Corel versions are quite capable and someone might not want to, or be able to upgrade to a more current version.

I myself use Corel 10 and 12 (for the "X snobs"' that would be version "X" and "X2") :-) and I find those versions more than capable of whatever tasks I need to accomplish. If I come here and ask questions I don't want to hear a blanket "upgrade to the newest version" statement as the universal fix for whatever problem I am dealing with.

Hello Peteski; If I had read at the Beginning of the post before answering the post. I wouldn't have. I started out with ver. 1 of CorelDRAW. I didn't upgrade to every ver. Because the newer ver. didn't have any thing that would HELP my work flow. Some of the older ver. will get the job done for what the person needs. Some people Are Lucky just to have a computer to use at all. But I DON'T care what ver. someone else is using, I will try to help if I can. I open new ver. or files and back save for people that need a file but CAN'T spend the money for a NEWER program and still eat. But NEWER ver. OF CorelDRAW get things DONE So Much FASTER, it makes you wonder why the people that can afford newer ver. don't have them!!!

I'm not offended.
Your reply just seemed to be like many similar replies I see on forums relating to older software. Those forums are there specifically to try and aid people who run older versions of software, but some participants are quick to just solve all the problems with an upgrade. That's all.

In this case it was simply a case where the squirrel bitmap needed to be masked so that its background didn't show when placed over the color gradient in the large oval. While things like that might be easier to accomplish in more recent software versions, the older software can handle this type of task just fine.
