"There are no export filters available"

I'm using XP and yes Corel 9 has been working for years okay. I can save a jpeg by giving it another name without any problem and I can save a new file as a .CPT file; I just can't export that .CPT file to Jpeg. C heers!

I am using Corel V10 - I hope that V9 is similar. Can you open a new (blank) image in PhotoPaint then try to import a JPG file? Does that work?

Also, check whether the filters are visible under Tools>Options>Global>Filters. After you click on Filters a list will show up.

Is there JPG filter shown under the list of active filters? If it is, click on it to select it, then click Remove. Now if you try to either import or export a JPG, you should not even have JPG option available.

Next, go back to Tools>Options>Global>Filters. After you click on Filters a list will show up. Find the JPG filter listed in the Raster section of the Available filter types, select it, then hit Add button.

Now see if the problem is fixed.

Hi I followed your instructions carefully but after I removed JPG from the active list when I try to restore it I can't find the filter at all to restore it! Now I can't do anything with Jpegs at all! I guess I'll need to reinstall the program to get it back. I'll wait to hear from you before i do that in case I've missed a step

You followed my instructions correctly - but it didn't work.

You mentioned earlier that you reinstalled Corel already and it didn't help. But when you did it the 1st time did you uninstall the old one first? If not then yes, I recommend a reinstall.

But first remove the existing Corel 9 from your computer (I assume you know how to uninstall a program). However I believe that even uninstalling it cleanly leaves some files behind.

Assuming that CD9 is the same as CD10 (what I use), after successful uninstall go to C:\Program Files\Corel\Graphics9 and delete anything that is still there. Specifically, there is C:\Program Files\Corel\Graphics9\Config\filters.ini file which might be corrupted. But if you remove everything from C:\Program Files\Corel\Graphics9, that will delete that file too.

You will also lose any customizations, but hopefully you can leave without them. At this point you can reinstall CD9 and hopefully the problem will be solved. Make sure, if you do custom install to select all the filters you want during the install. If you do a standard install, the filters should be installed automatically.

Hi I did an uninstall then reinstalled photo-paint: Back to square one! I have found a work around which isn't perfect but works well for now. I import the photo-paint (.CPT) files into CorelDRAW 9 and I can then export them successfully to jpeg format from there (Photo-Paint won't do this). Perhaps I'll have to update my Corel programs in the future, but I'm not a trained graphic artist and I really like the ease and simplicity of version 9 which does everything I need it to for now. I was thinking of uninstalling the entire Corel suite (everything), deleting all leftover folders, then doing a completely fresh install. A lot of files, libraries, etc. are most likely shared between all the Corel programs. Just reinstalling PhotoPaint doesn't clear everything out. But if you are happy with the workaround then that works too.
