Video Tutorials - any other format than YouTube??

I have recently bought CorelCAD 2014 and am keen to learn using it. (At present I am using CDRX7 and/or Designer for working drawings of gates, automated doors & shutters.)  Unfortunately it is company policy that YouTube is blocked on all our computers, so I cannot access any tutorials.  Are there any other video formats available - e.g. for older versions of CorelCAD - that would give me a start?  Failing that, are there any good 'how-to' books that I can buy?

Any advice appreciated  -  Lawrence L

  • For a few years I worked for a company that also had the IT department block access to various sites, including YouTube and Lynda.com

It took a bit of exposing to the powers that be why I needed access and for one of the computers in my office, they unblocked it. And they kept a log of what I viewed so as to make sure I wasn't taking advantage of the situation. Which was fine by me...I'm not into cat videos.

I also had people under me. If I caught them, or if the IT department informed me, that someone in my department was using a for browser they would be warned precisely once about it. If it happened again they would have been fired. I would encourage you to make a clear case as to why you need access to your boss. Then accept their decision and perhoas review the videos outside if work if they deny the initial request, keeping a log of how these videos have aided you in your work and present that at a later time.
