I just stumbled upon THIS LINK which is part says of CorelDraw, "Later this year, upgrades (download and box products) will no longer be available. Add Upgrade Protection to your purchase to get future versions at a fraction of the cost or choose a subscription, to always stay current." I did not take part in the webinar from earlier today, which I assume detailed what will happen later this year. Does anyone know? Does this mean Corel is moving to a subscription-only model for Draw? Am I correct to assume that anyone who has a licensed product before a subscription-only model begins will be able to keep that license, to use that version, regardless of his or her subscription status?
Thanks for your time.
Dunno. Sounds ominous, though.
If reading it in plain English is correct, I guess I'll stay with v.2018 and eventually drop using CD altogether when Windows breaks it.
The day Corel goes into a subscription only model, will mark the beginning of the end for me. For me at least, it seems this is the time to start hunting for reasonable alternatives.
For me too. I will probably stick to old version forever.
It's going to happen,m my guess in 2020 they will offer Cloud-Based and download (no physical disk) in 2021 most likely will be cloud based subscription option only
No, what that means is starting with this version 2019, you can only update from it to the next version cost wise. Earlier versions than 2019 will no longer be available for upgrade pricing when 2020 comes out..
I am not aware of any subscription only plan, that is an option if you prefer.
Really don't need a disc in this technical day and age. Downloads in a few minutes or less.
Best part you can now download all the extras like images, clip art, fonts, etc. Very cool.
