Here are 2 Minor bugs I've found in CDR 2019
1.
Minor Bug the Edit Power Clip[ button is missing from a power clip object, in order to enter power clip I need to right clip then select edit power clip. In earlier version the quick access button assigned to an active Power Clip Object is nice to have.
2. Letter Case Change quick access missing
Letter Case Change quick access here is ok.
Alt+F3 also works fine
Yes, Alt+F3 works.
Ariel, please let me know for what is important the Densitometer Scale and the Color Calibration Bar in print industry? Thanks
It is a very important part in the modern printing process, because it is an objective reference. That is, you can see an impression and say "This is yellow" or "This is red", but how yellow or red? The human eye has several limitations of perception. And besides, it is subjective, each person can interpret it differently. It also influences the ambient lighting, paper, etc. But for that there are machines, such as densitometers or spectrum-densitometers, that allow us to measure the exact tones. Color samples must have specific percentages (100%, 75%, 50%, etc.).
You probably would not be able to distinguish between 90% yellow, 95% or 100%. But if the maximum color (100%) is printed at 90%, it means that the rest of the work will be 10% paler. Or on the contrary, if 50% is printed as 60%, the job will be darker. It is a matter of quality. Maybe many printers are not interested. But for those who want a quality impression, it is imperative.
There are not only brands and products that have a specific value, registered worldwide. If a job was previously printed, the new edition must have the same color. And if a certain amount is printed, be it a thousand, ten thousand or more, they must all have the same color. It would be very bad propaganda to put two books together on a shelf and that each one had a different tone.
In addition, we are in an increasingly competitive world, where quality is an essential factor, even more important than price. A badly printed job can mean losing a lot of money, but even worse, you can lose a good customer. Quality can be the difference between commercial success or bankruptcy.
Many designers do not give importance to the color profile when designing. There are many factors that affect the result, such as paper type, total ink coverage, etc. And that is very important. As a designer, you must be absolutely certain that if you use 40% of cyan, 40% will be printed, "about 40%." The Densitometer Scale is a control factor, not the only one but something essential.
Thank you Ariel for the detailed answer, is really helpful.
Thank you!
