Hi friends,
I have been a Corel Draw user since Corel Draw 3, and over the years I have put up with some bad versions, that's why I only bought the Odd Number versions up until now!
I am having so much trouble with un-stable multi page layouts and total crashes. I have loaded in all the CD Patches and updates and they have made no difference at all.
Where is our Colour Button on the left hand toolbox toolbar, it used to be above the Pen Outline Colour.
I have a 800mm tall single page layout, with No Special Effects just plain text and a few solid colours and I tried yesterday to move some text around and tidy up the layout, and each time I tried it totally crashed, so I had to do it in Photoshop 2019.
I also had another bug, each time i typed a certain word it would automatically be replaced with another word, i tried changing the word in Writing Tools Quick Correct, but that hasn't worked either.
I still have Corel Draw X5 and to be honest that seems faster and more stable than the new CD19 and Don't get me started on effects in CD19 it just doesn't happen.
Sorry guys to drop in on you like this and have a whinge but I have suffered in silence enough and at the moment I am actually out of patience and seriously considering asking for my money back for the first time EVER since I've owned Corel Draw 3 and Its not cheap in New Zealand I can tell you that.
Is any one else having stability troubles and bugs and I mean just in general use with CD 19?
I was really looking forward to CD19 because I thought that it would be a very professional Design suite now, because of the number of years the programmers have had to really iron out the bugs.
But i am really disappointed to say that I don't feel that it has progressed all that far when compared to what else is on the market, without mentioning names. I have read a lot of your forum posts and I am seeing a lot of bug issues as well.
I honestly think I will go back to CD 15 even though that still has a few bugs.
Which CD Version do you guys feel is the most stable to use?
Thanks every one for your time and I look forward to seeing your replies.
All the best.
Cheers Kev

Since v2019 is unusable, I feel X7 is the most stable, but I also have upgrades to v2017 which is ok also. But many claim X8 and v2018 are the best also which may be, but I skipped those to the disastrous v2019... which remains uninstalled until further notice... which will probably be v2020 or later... or in my case, probably have to use X7 or 2017 until Windows future update breaks them forcing a current CorelDraw version. : (
Hi timd11971, I did the same and skipped, I still have CD X5 and I had to save that CD 19 single page document with only 1 small Photo and just plain text in 2 columns and Open it in CD X5 just to get the document Finished and ready for the deadline..
1 ] The Fonts were going haywire and corrupted.2 ] It was so slow and it was crashing, and then many times (you were spot on), it would just disappear, no message no warning nothing and I am fuming.3 ] Then I tried to Import that small jpeg Photo, you won't believe the message I got, actuallyit was an Error Message: You can not Import jpeg File, Please try the Open Command. At first I thought wow maybe they have come up with another new idea on how to Import jpeg Photosand then I tried the Open Command, and ...lol I got the same error except you can not Open a jpeg please use the Import Command.
I had to reboot the whole computer to get it to work, and funny you mention the computer because it is a new computer with a i9 10 Core CPU, with 64 Gig of DDR4 Ram at 3200mhz speed, and an nVidia RTX2080 Video Card with 8gig of Video Ram, and 5 Hard Drives. 3 of which are M.2 Driveswhich are extremely fast and yet Corel Draw was still on Slow Motion Mode.
I updated CD 19 with the latest 3 Up Dates and has made no difference to my CD.
That was the last straw for me, I've had it, it is simply Not Fun anymore to design and it's my passionI just can't believe Why can't they just can't Get It Right!. I mean how many years of practice do they need, they've had plenty and more.
So from what I am hearing and reading, the CD 18 Version or 2018 Version sounds like it is the best Version, the most stable. Are they not the same versions, from what I'm hearing they sound like 2 separate Versions of Corel Draw.
Is that correct, and if so, which Version would you recommend going for?
And if that fails,Yes I am going to ask for my money back because I can't work like this anymoreand I hope they don't start a fight over it, because boy I am not in the mood and they will probably get both barrels at the momment...lol
Thank You so much guys for all you time and advice i really appreciate the time you have all taken to help me, and I will report back after I get yr feedback on the CD 18 and or the 2018 CD Version.
Thanks
Cheers Kev Borg

If within 30 days, no hassle.
I am not getting refunds just writing the lost cost off.
They are stopping Upgrades DEC 1 2019.
So I am NOT willing to pay FULL PRICE for each seat of v2020. I'd rather pay the last upgrade price PLUS the so called Upgrade Protection which total, is cheaper than full price.... and if Corel proves to be successful after... may continue with yearly Upgrade Protection (Corel, you hear me? I am sure that is what you wanted to hear).
I've given this v2019 the benefit of the doubt and am not going to continue with it...have a funny feeling there may possibly be one last update 4 attempt... but it will probably be crap also and therefore an incomplete version 2019, then they will move to v2020 with this crud yearly cycle they have... it's a scapegoat... time usually isnt on your side, but it will be version to version for them. It's rotten.
I have not used v2018, but hear that is the possibly the last good version until further notice.
I am staying with X7... we have v2017 also, which works ok also, but way too many files in X7 and not sure quite yet where to go with Corel here on out.
We may give v2020 one last go, but after that, may have to call CorelDraw quits and go with the giant 100%. (Adobe).
The multi page issues, (the page order and the keep desktop objects on layer) are real serious issues. You can lose more on one job than the program costs.
