Hi
Odd thing has happened. When I opened X6 yesterday (it's still on my computer though I haven't used it for a couple of years) I found the text on the menu bar -- File, Edit etc - has either disappeared or more likely, gone the same colour as the background. When I hover over the menu bar, the categories show up as normal but only while the pointer is above them. A soon as it moves on the text 'disappears' again.
Thanks
Not sure how to fix but I'm pretty sure I've read about it somewhere here.Guess you are using Windows 10 and I think it has to do with X6 not being fully compatible with it.Works fine on my Windows 10 though, so maybe it is a color scheme issue or something?
Hi Ronny
Like you, I remember seeing the same query a few years ago. I finally found some threads but there were no definitive fixes; the best solution involved creating a new toolbar from customization in place of the 'invisible' one. A neat and fast workaround.
Yes I am on Windows 10 and apparently it is a non-compatibility issue. Not sure why - upgrading to 10 didn't seem to impact on any other programs - some of them far older.
BTW, out of interes,t how do you get the reverse colour effect of your menu bar while leaving the rest of the workspace light as per your screen shot.. When I change the theme to dark or black , the whole shooting match darkens. I can re-adjust the border and desktop but nothing else in isolation.
Colin.I haven't done anything to get a black toolbar, I believe it is the default color in X6.I also believe that is why it disappears for some users on Windows 10 (white text and Windows fails to display a black menu bar for some reason, and makes it white too instead).Have you changed any color settings in Windows perhaps?
Ronny, thanks for replying.
I haven't changed any settings to my knowledge. Odd though, my menu bars have always been white or light grey with black text as far as I remember - from version 9 onward.
