Can someone please tell me how to center an object in a circle again. It has something to do with cntl K I believe.
To center any object to another only requires to select both and press C and E
Ctrl+K is for Break Apart any effect
if what you want is to fit a text to the circle, there's no shortcut for this, just select both and go to the text menu, fit text to path

Thanks for the diagram Ahmad. But you need to be aware of one caveat. If you have the "Treat all objects as filled" option as unchecked, you cannot grab the center point if the star is not filled. Add a fill it works fine. Had me totally confused for awhile.
