HELP! I have had Corel X4 installed for about 3 months then all of a sudden it has stopped working.
Everytime I try to start the app it comes up with "Product Installation Unsuccessful Please Reinstall Error 24" and closes. We have this installed on quite a number of computers with different legit keys on each.
I have tried repairing the installation through add/Remove programs with no success, one one computer tried uninstalling then reinstalling but when installing it comes up with "Invalid Key" when trying to reinstall, which is weird because it worked before and is legit. All computers running Windows XP and had CorelX4 SP1 installed. Have tried installing the Hotfix1 (no sucess).
Have looked through the forums here and can't really see anything that will help. Would really appreciate some info, cheers.
If you know which update causing a problem (under windows updates check date when update installed) you can uninstall that update. At least in Vista you can...
product installation failed.. reinstall the application (error 24)
yes... just set back the clock to feb. no need to change day....do refresh.... & click coreldraw.exe... that's open.... if not restart system again... after opening corel you can change the clock to june
hope it will fix the problem...
FWIW, at least one major corporation has had crashes directly related to the above mentioned DST patch from Microsoft. Some Honeywell application software has been affected and Honeywell have issued a "remove immediately" service bulletin here.
I'm definitely not saying there is a connection, but certainly worth a look.
Same problem here... German XP Pro SP2
OK, I uninstalled KB981793 on my Vista machine and it made no difference to the error. Corel still fails to run.
I was unable to uninstall the update on XP but I seriously doubt that it would have made a difference.
(Please stop suggesting to turn the clock back! That was suggested back in post number 2 and quite a few times since.
Yes, you can get Corel working that way, but it is not a satisfactory solution.)
