please help

I use x4 to sent files to cutmaster for cutting vinyl. most of the time this is fine. but I get files sometimes that give me a security warning "file contains macros" with an option to 'enable" or "disable" niether of which will let me cut from that file once opened??? can anyone tell me why this keeps happening? Thanks for any help I can get.

  • Hello bigmike; I guess you mean clients send you files for cutting? But if you get a file like that try opening in WinZip and pull the cdr out to a new page in CorelDraw, and see if that works.

    My Thoughts George

  • You can use "Save as" option to save the file. Make sure you un-check the the option "Save with embedded VBA project while saving the file. By this it will remove the VBA project that has been attached to the file that was used by your client.

    • these are not files from customers they are files i create in coreldraw itself and save from corel. when I attempt to reopen a file I have just created i get the warning about "macros"

      • whether you get the files from client or you create it, if the file contains a macro it will show the warning. The file would carry a macro programmed withing it by default . You will have to save the file with "Embed VBA project" un-checked to save the file without the macro. In your case it seems that your files are already saved with the macro. In this case you will have to use 'Save As' to get the dialog box where you get the option to save it without the macro(i.e vba project).

        • when i save as the only option to "embed" is "embed fonts using trudoc"?? where would "embed with VBA" be?

          • You can do it in setup.
