Is there a way to convert an artistic media object into a normal shape, so I can apply transperancy? Thank you
Sure, why not?
Just go to Break Apart Artistic Media Group (ctrl-K).
You can then delete the line you originally drew and apply your transparency to the group of objects that remains.
