I am trying to figure out how to make a bitmap into a vector file. Just in general I need to know where to get some basic training. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!
You can always try Power Trace first .........but, like most of us, we usually just hunker down, select the drawing tool of choice.............and re-draw.
There are times, if you have a decent raster, Power Trace will at least give you a good starting point.
From there, adding/deleting manipulating some nodes, might be good enough.
All depends on the original image and what the intended purpose of vector will be.
Unfortunately, most of the stuff that passes across my desk (sigh).............is the re-draw from scratch variety.
Just my 2 cents here . . . Foster's book really IS a great way to get started with Corel. After going through it myself, I used it to help me create the Corel portion of the test we give potential new graphics employees here at our company--to assess their strengths and weaknesses with various packages (we work in Corel, Adobe & Quark--depending on the customer).
Thanks Foster. Great work!
