Hey, I've just purchased Corel X4 (and new to it) and designing a new business logo. I'm wanting to know please how I use the knife tool to cut a diagonal line in half
The knife tool has little use on lines, as far as I can see. But I'll guess that your "line" has a significant thickness, to make you want to cut it with the knife.
Probably therefore, you need to Arrange : Convert outline to object in order to make your line thickness into a shape that the knife tool can be applied to. Help: Knife Tool will give you more information on using the tool if you need it.
Thanks heaps for you help I'll give it a go and hopfully I'll sus it
I believe the Knife Tool is intended to be used on objects, not lines. You could use the following method to 'cut' a line. Using the Shape Tool, select the line. Right click on the point on the line where you want the 'cut' to take place. On the pop-up menu, select Break Apart. Using the Pick Tool, right click on the line and select Break Curve Apart. Now your original line will be two lines, touching at the 'cut' point. - Scotty
Kind of difficult to make any suggestions from the information you provided. Like the others, though, it doesn't sound like the knife tool is what you're looking for.
Can you post a picture showing what you're trying to accomplish?
