I had been using CorelDraw X5 to create portfolio compositions for several months. Recently whenever trying to use the TEXT tool or whenever I try to edit text, I consistently receive a runtime error. Error dialog box indicates:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program:...\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5\Programs\CorelDRW.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
The only time this error occurs (and it doesn't matter whether I start with a new document or try to edit an existing one) is when I use the TEXT tool. Originally I thought it was whenever I tried to add a space in between my words, but that notion was quickly dispelled when I typed one word and then tried to click outside the text box.
Is there a fix for this error?? I've already installed Service Pack 1. I'm not able to complete any of my portfolio projects because of this error.
I'm using Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 3, 4GBs of RAM, two nVidia 8800GTX cards linked together through SLI, Dell XPS710 Core2 @2.93Ghz.
Thanks Paul. I tried that and while the application has been reset, the problem still exists. I tried editing the text once again and although I'm able to start typing, the error occurred when I hit the space bar prior to typing the next word.
From what's happening, I'm not sure if it's a problem dealing with the default font, but rather perhaps a macro within the software?
I'm also get the same problem with text tool....
