Checking what an image/object will look like in CMYK print while you are working on it.

Again with Adobe users I have seen them use a shortcut or a tool to get a quick preview of what an image or object will look like in CMYK print whilst they are working on it on screen.

Is there a CorelX5 equivalent?

Thanks.

  • Hi Athol,

what you are wanting to do is very simple:

    1. Click on Windows>Dockers>Color Proof Settings to open the Color Proof Settings docker
    2. Under "Simulate Environment" choose the device you wish to simulate (i.e. the CMYK printer)
    3. tick the check box at the top of the docker which says Proof Colors

There is also a Proof Colors icon on the status bar, so once you have the right printer selected to simulate, you don't need the docker open to turn proofing on and off; simply use the status bar icon. As per Andrew's suggestion - it is always worth having a quick look at the help feature when you are unsure how to do something.

    Best regards,
    Brian.
