WORKING SOLUTION FOR ME, TRY BY YOURSELF AND LET ME KNOW
1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Expand the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\
You'll see it before zone number 0, there is 1 extra (parasite) zone. You should delete that extra (parasite) zone from there.
That's all! Command buttons will appear
nahrafqifahs,
For me installing on another profile has worked but it would be such a nightmare to keep switching and so I tried your solution.
On the new profile everything is fine, but on the original profile the 'CurrentVersion' folder doesn't actually exist, stopping me from completing the steps.
Is there anyway to get that back?
Hope you can help
Rich
There are times where repairing / rebuilding Windows is the only time effective option. Take a computer to a repair shop with a software issue and 9/10 times it will be returned with a reformatted disk. There is a whole set of file protection mechanisms in versions of Windows from system files to maintaining copies of services packs for programs within the Windows folder, a complex registry, various special folder designed to deal with multiple users... once something is damaged unless you have a deep understanding of those structures and what has been written to them it is necessary to repair or reinstall the OS and reload software from scratch.
