After upgrading ATI graphics card driver, corel X5 wont launch at all neither will Paint.
ive tried re installations , repairs, un installing ATI driver, re installing corel, applying serv pack 1 and 2
and still no joy, anyone with the same problem???

Same prob - (same error) for both Corel Draw X5 & Corel Photo Paint X5 - looking at it now.
- Have made no hardware mods (no memory updates or anything - hardware appears normal - not sure how to check that though.
- Software changes - have not used Corel for a couple of days, but have made 3 software changes (Windows Vista - Update, AVAST antivirus update, and installed both STEAM and a game a couple of days ago.)
- Presently installing the Corel X5 Service Pack 2 as a first step (can't tell if I've already installed it or not - can't tell because none of the COREL apps will launch - both generate the error.
- If this doesn't work - guess I'll try System Restore next?
Thoughts, suggestions welcome.

OUCH, I think I am better not to upgrade seeing there are problems like this.
Ok - Have determined that AVAST antivirus software update was causing the problem (error 0xc0000005).
Corel working fine after AVAST uninstalled. Apparently, a number of AVAST users having probs. The apparent problem was in the software update - the advertised fix from the AVAST users is to uninstall AVAST, then do a complete fresh installation with the latest version - not 'upgrade' as the problem appears to be in the upgrade. Corel was and is fine (working in it now.)

As Bob mentioned it definately was an Avast clash.
Un installed and re installed an older version and swivhed off automatic updating.
So far no hassles.
