Hi,
I am creating my files in 5x. The final product will be a printed 8.5 x 11 calendar. The company requires 300dpi resolution, and a bleed size of 1/16".
Product 8.5" x 11" Calendar
Final Size 8.5" x 11"
Bleed Size 1/16"
Resolution to Submit 8.627" x 11.127", 2588 x 3338 px, 300dpi
My page is letter size.
The image is a bitmap composed of numerous photographs and vector graphics.
I have saved them to a CMYK BITMAP 300DPI.
In Corel the image reads as 11.125" x 8.625"
When I export to a pdf or jpg the image size changes to 11.293" x 8.796" which will not work for the printer. It sets the design elements outside the 'safe zone'.
I have read a number of earlier threads on similar\r issues, but haven't seen a explanation of a workaround or fix for my problem.
Any ideas here?
Thanks, Sara
Hi Sara,
did you set bleed in the PDF Export dialog? These settings worked for me:
Best regards,Brian.
Interesting. I went and set the bleed as you showed and the final size was 11.25 x 8.75 which, sadly is not the 11.13 x 8.63 they are looking for...
Do I maybe need to change the original parameters of the corel image size AND the pdf bleed size??
Needless to say this has been making me crazy all day and only 3 glasses of sangria have made it possible for me to even look at this issue again this evening...
you input IS appreciated ; -)
Sara, I suppose that you had set up your page to 8.5”x11”. If exported jpg has size 11.293" x 8.796" than some part of your graphic lies out of the page on desktop (if you select all objects what size do you see on the object size frame?) Page size incl. bleed: w 8.5”+0.0625” (1/16”)+0.0625”=8.625” (i.e. 2587.5 px at 300 dpi ) h 11.0”+0.0625+0.0625=11.125” (i.e. 3337.5 px at 300 dpi) Their request - resolution to submit 8.627" x 11.127", 2588 x 3338 px, 300dpi – represents dimension of the graphic including bleed. Best regards, Mek
