Hi,
sorry for my dumb question, I'm new in vector artwork
I'm trying to make a smooth line with sharp and pointed tip. I use artistic media brush but it came like this (just sample)
can you help me?
Thank you
Im pretty new to it myself
The best way I can think to do it is to start with an ellipse, convert to curve and then use the shape tool to squish it up into a sideways half moon shape and then play around with adding a taking nodes.
There is probably a way easier way to do it but as I said I' still getting my head around this too =)
thanks for replying,
but I'd like to make a line. not a shape. A line is always symetric and easy to change bold or hairline
Hi.
Hope be useful:
wow, nice.. that's what I want
but that's using object fill, how to use object fill in a line? I try
can you tell me how to do that? step by step please..
All I get just like this :(
Thanks for your kindly help, Jesus Cota and Aleem
Hi Aaddii,
That was using a Custom Artistic Media Brush. Follow this thread to learn more how to make your own brushes and apply them to the shapes.

And here's another thread incase you run into difficulties with your custom brushes.

Hello aaddii; A line has nothing to fill, it must be a closed shape.

Not exactly. A line using the Artistic media tool is coloured as a fill, not as an outline, since those objects can have both fill and outline attributes.

]I'm having the same exact problem, but I can't seem to figure out how to do this with just this diagram. Is there any possible way that you could create a video of you doing this and replying it to me ASAP.
I need to learn this for a job and I'm trying to teach myself and it's quite difficult.
Thanks!

Preset Brushes don't always work according to the plan in such cases the Custom ones come in handy. Try to create a shape such as below and play around with that.
Hi Aleem. Glad to see you again for here.

Thanks Jesus, Glad to join you again :)
Hi aaddii You´re Welcome.
Easy way to add color to line is: left mouse click over color palette or use the Color Eyedropper Tool.
