Drawing Dots

Hello All,

I am trying to add dots to a tie to create the polka dot look. Is there an easy way to do this?

  • Draw one dot, duplicate vertically and horizontally, and powerclip it to the tie shape.

  • I would use a full color pattern fill of whatever polka dot pattern I wanted.

    • Thanks for your suggestions. I was able to create and duplicate the dots but I am unable to powerclip them into the existing tie.

Love the suggestion about the full pattern fill I can use this in the future but I don't see where I can select dots and change the color. Is this possible?

      • One of the downsides to pattern fills is that you have to create a new pattern to change colors. But it is the fastest way to do it if you are using similar patterns on a regular basis.

          Easily:

          • THANK YOU so much Graewerld and Foster Coburn!!!!!!!!!!!!!

            • Graeworld,

You are comparing apples and oranges here. I am NOT talking about the absolutely hideous two color fills. They are VERY low resolution bitmaps and should be avoided at all costs. Their only benefit is the ease in changing colors.

I am talking about full color pattern fills and they are vector-based.

              • Now that I was able to create the dots is it possible to print for screen printing? The colors in the tie are not included on the color separations for the colors they represent.

            • Never mind...user error (which will happen often since I am new to this software). I was able to powerclip the dots inside. Thanks for your assistance everyone!!!!
