I drew a stone wall with the free hand tool and used a 1.0 line width, but since the ends of the lines are square I have jagged edges in places. I tried using the eraser but as soon as I let go of the mouse button what I erased pops back. I was thinking about converting to a bit map and smooth it out that way, but I need it as a vector file. So after I convert it and clean it up can I convert it back? And if not how else can I solve this issue.

Just to clarify: Are the objects whose whose jagged outline corners you want to correct closed objects? Such troublesome corners can result from open objects. Choose Wireframe from the View menu for a clearer view.
I'm new to corelDraw (or any other program of this type) so I'm not quite sure what you mean by a 'closed object' Here is a link to the file if you wouldn't mind taking a look.

You can probably fix that by changing the shape of the pen:
That fixes most of the problems, but some of your lines have been converted to shapes. The eraser should work on those.
Changing the pen shape will also not fix that little nick in the example above. To fix that one, you need to select the line and use the shape tool (F10). Select the node near the nick, right cllick on it and change it to smooth.
So
The rounded corners defiantly helped a lot but like you said didn't fix everything, and the eraser isn't getting rid of if either.
Does any have or know where I can get a stone wall pattern like the one I'm trying to make. IE, line only, vector, and when one side is put up against the other they match so it would look continuous?
I cant even open this with Corel X4....
Anyways, another thing you can do is use the Reduce Nodes option that will popup in the property bar when using the node editor (in x4 at least).
This can be a pain, and you have to do it in sections. However, I have been known to use it to make nice curved line with like 10 nodes (instead of 900 nodes that came from a scan/vectorization).
There might be something in the corel stock clipart.
Online you have almost unlimited venues. Two of my favorites are:

www.google.com search in images set color to mono.
Should look good now!

ohhhh that did it! Thanks
Hello wdlanghans; The way I would do it is draw the rocks making sure the nodes of opened ended line touched a line then Combine them and use the Contour tool to out line them, remove the line drawing of the rocks, brake them apart and color the rocks and the out side contour I would color for the mortar.
