I am new to corel draw 6. I use draw to make vinyl stickers. I used to use draw4 an it was easy to assign registration marks to align the different colors once I cut them out but with 6 I can not find the place to make the registration marks. Any help?
Registration marks can be enabled in the print or publish to PDF screens.
In the print screen, it is on the Prepress tab.
In publish to PDF, you need to go to Settings then Prepress.
Hello,
you used the X6 Home & Student?
Ah yes. Registration marks, or other "professional" features, will not be available in Home and Student.
i am not usuing home an student. in draw 4 it was easy. with this 6 i am lost.any help would be appreciated.
In the print screen ...
In the settings button of Publish to PDF ...
ok i found that stuff but where does it show up on my page when i am creating a sticker? sorry to be such a pain in the butt. I really appreciate your help
Registration marks are created outside the page border. Try setting your page size in CorelDraw to about 30mm smaller in both directions than the size of the paper in the printer.
Or, if you are using a roll fed device, it probably makes more sense to set the page size in CorelDraw to the size of your finished design and set the print area about 30mm larger each way.

The current version is CorelDRAW X6, that means CorelDRAW 16 (the X is 10 in roman numbers). Are you using CorelDRAW 4.0 or X4 (14.0)? On both cases... how do you apply Registration marks on previous versions? there's not difference on X6 about this, And also, you can apply crop marks and registration marks on the Print Preview

Both are free and easy to use (select any object and apply). You can add a keyboard shortcut (for example, Ctrl+1) for faster access to the macro
How did you assign registration marks in X4? Should be pretty much the same. Are any marks showing up? Have you changed the registration mark color?
As said earlier, Marks must be 0.5" inside the print paper size plus any non print area, if any, that your printer may have. In other words, your design area must be smaller than you print paper. Once there you can adjust them in the print preview.
A Test, Set up your printer to 8.5 x 11 paper. Change you design page size to 5 x 7 and work from there. You should see your registration marks provided you select that option in the Prepress..
You can disregard the general setup and adjust the marks in the print preview, using the marks tool. Sometimes you cannot see them. Once the Marks tool is selected, use to pointer to hover over the edge of the page line and you will find it. Of course you must have selected print registration mark in the prepress tab or select it on the property bar of the Marks placement tool.
This is X4 but I believe X6 is very similar.
