I've been running X6 updated on my Win 7 PC for years without issue. I installed some new Windows updates over the last few days, and now DRAW crashes as soon as I open it.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Uninstalling the most recent Windows updates dated 6/12/15.
Reinstalling X6 w/ updates/patches
Running DRAW as an admin
None of these has worked, and I forgot to set up a restore point, so that's not an option. DRAW lists the error as <System.AccessViolationException>
Suggestions?
Stuck on an install will get to you.
Please list all system specs, anti virus and other software
It installed with no problem; it just crashes on start-up. It worked well until recent updates to Win Defender which can't be uninstalled. I reinstalled CorelDRAW, allowed it to run as admin, and turned off Defender, but none of it helped. The RAM (16GB DDR3) is good, I ran checkdisk to find and fix errors (2TB HD w/ >50% free space), and Avast can't find any malware. No hardware changes were made, and the only new software was the Windows update. I need you to answer the questions I ask, systems specs ECT. I run Windows Defender on 8.1 with all Windows Updates. The information you given me is useless.
Win 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit, i7 3770K CPU, 16 GB DDR3 RAM, ST2000DM001-1CH164 HD, EVGA GTX660FTW SIG2 DDHDP PCIE, Avast Free Antivirus. Is there anything else that you need to know?
Is Windows fully updated? I have heard of issues with Avast on different forums, not sure how true they are.
I use this procedure, I uninstall delete all user files for CorelDraw REBOOT SYSTEM. I then make sure ALL WINDOWS UPDATES are done, on professional systems I do all except Skype and on Ultimate systems I do all bit Skype and the language packs. This includes the optional updates. I RUN WINDOWS SECURITY ESSIENTIALS or Windows Defender only, I do not turn it off when I install CorelDraw.
I install CorelDraw, ghostscript, font navigator, to a directory named for the version,(coreldrawx6/), I reboot the system, before launching the program I install ALL CORELDRAW UPDATES. When I launch CorelDraw and Corel Photo-PAINT for the first time I hold the F8 key and use the defaults.
