Does X7 now allow us to make multiple selections within a group? Does it allow for any other new editing features which can now be used on group members, such as transparency editing, or the measurement tool? This is the one thing that puts me off Corel--not being able to tweak or edit individual items or groups of items within a group. Also not being able to use the knife tool once an image has been sized/scaled.
Hoping to hear this has been changed since my X5...:-)...???

Thanks for your reply George, but we were always able "to group objects then add to it by grouping more objects to it" in CorelDrw...:-).... I was asking if one could now make a multiple selection from within a group. For instance, if you had five items that you wanted to make red in a group of ten items, can you select those items only and make them red? In my X5, you have to remove the items from the group one by one, make them red, and then bring them back into the group. This is especially annoying if the items were named.
Does the knife tool work on eg an image file that has been scaled up or down?
Thanks Sharon!
Yes--that's exactly what I had in mind. In X5 you can only CTRL+select one object in a group. If you hold shift and select another object in the group, the previous object gets deselected....:-(.... Are you also saying that one cannot multiple select within a group which is itself within a (larger) group? I do a lot of work with letters, so I will often have, for example, the letters spelling a word grouped together. But within the word group, an individual letter could be comprised of several strokes, so the strokes of the letter would itself be a specific-letter group. If I wanted to move, say, three strokes of a letter grouping which is itself in a word grouping, I would have to ungroup the letter strokes, remove it from the word group, make my changes, and then make the groups over again, including having to name them again. If I remember my forums correctly, I believe this is not a problem in Illustrator.....
An other thing that really bothers me is that I cannot edit e.g., transparency on an object which has dimensions made with the Dimension tool. I have to delete the dimension, do the editing and then redo the dimensioning.
And the knife tool. I regularly want to do some slicing when my image has already been scaled to fit the page.....
I wonder if Illustrator is missing any of my much-used Corel functions....:-)...
