Deleting a single line when you have a double line

Ariel is right there are many ways to achieve what you need to do, he's given you 4 and I gave you two others above. The fact that its different from how you used to do it is unfortunate, and as I explained is a consequence of the upgraded functionality in regards to the the use of the shape tool.

Here is the very easiest way to do what you want and its very nearly as quick as using the VSD tool.

Select the rectangle, Ctrl-Q. Shape tool, click once on the bottom edge to place a marker. Hit delete. Gone.

So.....to continue this thought. I have an bit map that was autotraced. A very complicated Mandala pattern. It actually autotraces quite nicely. Except. Every object in the Mandala has an identical duplicate object hiding beneath it. I can select an object and delete it and the duplicate is right below it. On the Mandala I am working with right now there are close to 1000 objects. Each has a duplicate hiding below it on the same layer. I do these for use on a laser cutter, like the person who originally posted this question. How can I delete JUST the top or bottom object in each of these pairs short of click on each and every object and deleting the top one? That is what I am doing now and I will need a trip to the eye doctor by the time I am done. Any thoughts?

A little short of time right now but try the "Remove background" setting in PowerTRACE.
It should remove the background and the objects with the same color if you also check "Remove color from entire image".
You can also try "Remove object overlap" and "Group objects by color".

These options may, with a little luck, create a trace that is easier to deal with.

Mek....your macro appears to have done the trick and halved the number of objects in the mandala. Will see how that cuts in the laser now. The double cut it was doing before was creating burned edges that I normally dont get, as well as toasting some of the very fine details. I bet this will do the trick, at least in terms of correcting the toasting issue.

Ronny, I have a few more to run autotrace on and will see how your suggestion works!

Thanks again for your suggestion. I redid the autotrace for this particular job so I was comparing apples to apples and found I was already set the way you suggested. Just FYI.

The interesting this was.....on this autotrace the resulting vectors were all doubled as I described. I did a second autotrace with a different but similar bitmap and there was NO doubling of each object. Same settings. For giggles I took the first one and redid it a third time and got the same results. All objects doubled. I tried closing Corel and clearing all the caches and then rebooting the machine and reloading corel (way overkill....I know) and then tried autotracing that first bitmap and still get all objects doubled. Since then I found some bitmaps end up with doubled objects. Some don't. It doesnt seem to be tied to the number of resulting objects. The autotrace settings are the same, and the bitmaps are different, but pretty similar and certainly the same in that the are Black and White only. Go figure. Will keep playing with this as I have time. But for now I will be happy with the fix Mek described. It is an annoyance to have to do that, but at least it resolves the problem fairly quickly.
