We have X8 on several PCs here at work, and one of those computers has officially reached Retirement Age and will soon be replaced. All of our installs of X8 were downloads - we don't have physical media like a DVD. Is it even possible to move an install/license to a new PC without an install DVD?
If not and I have to buy another install, is X8 still available? If I put 2017 on this new computer I know I'll struggle to remember to save everything down to X8 for use on the other computers.
Thanks,
John
You may already know this, but I'll state it anyway just in case. It is my understand that uninstalling X8 while being logged in to your CorelDRAW account is what "frees up" that license with Corel so that it can be used to activate the new installation. If a machine just failed catastrophically, then you would need to discuss it with Corel Support; I'm sure that happens sometimes.
As far as downloadable or DVD installation of X8 is concerned, I think you might need to go through Corel support there, too. In my case, even my DVD wouldn't work.
See this thread where that topic was discussed a bit.
Thanks. Did not know. Seems like I had seen something about that, but couldn't come up with search terms that would bring that up when I was searching this site.
Yes, you can install X8 on your new computer using your serial number. But it's better if you uninstall the program first from your old computer, logged with your username and with internet connection. You can perform infinite uninstall and reinstall, but if you don't unistall, there's only a few install available with the same serial number
