Move X8 to new PC

We have X8 on several PCs here at work, and one of those computers has officially reached Retirement Age and will soon be replaced.  All of our installs of X8 were downloads - we don't have physical media like a DVD.  Is it even possible to move an install/license to a new PC without an install DVD?

If not and I have to buy another install, is X8 still available?  If I put 2017 on this new computer I know I'll struggle to remember to save everything down to X8 for use on the other computers.

Thanks,

John

  • You may already know this, but I'll state it anyway just in case. It is my understand that uninstalling X8 while being logged in to your CorelDRAW account is what "frees up" that license with Corel so that it can be used to activate the new installation. If a machine just failed catastrophically, then you would need to discuss it with Corel Support; I'm sure that happens sometimes.

As far as downloadable or DVD installation of X8 is concerned, I think you might need to go through Corel support there, too. In my case, even my DVD wouldn't work.

See this thread where that topic was discussed a bit.
