Art measurement including outlines

Windows 8 CorelDraw 2017

Screenprinter

When I completely select the art in my workspace it will show me a measurement, but the measurement (width in this example) always does not include outlines. In this instance it is text with some outlines. I know that if I convert the outlines to curves it will give me proper width. I would rather not do this because many times I have to go back and edit the text in the art. So my question is if there is a way to get a proper width that includes outlines? Thanks for your time.

  • Will your macro interfere with the SmartDesigner shell to the best of your knowledge?

I don't have any experience with that, but I don't have any reason to think that it would interfere. My macro doesn't modify anything in the CorelDRAW installation or workspace.

You might want to close my macro userform when you are not actively using it, so that it is not automatically updating every time you change the selection in CorelDRAW.
