Hi
Can anyone help with some info on creating clock dials in C/D 12.
I now the basics of creating the dials and it's very simple creating a dial with flat bottom numerals but I'm looking for Roman Numerals around the inside (bottom of each number) of the dial to be rounded.
If you look at any clock dial with Roam numerals you will see that the top of each numeral is flat and the bottom is rounded so that every number follows a circle.
I've tried 'Fit text to path' but is this the only option I have as when it comes to moving each number via angle on center point it starts to get messy!!?
Simple

some ideas:
find existing face that looks the way you like already as existing vector shapes for free
use artistic ability to redraw, using bitmaps such as the one in earlier in this thread if you can't find as vector
possible use of envelope tool on flat tops and bottoms of existing vector roman numerals you place
buying existing vector versions from stock site that meet your needs
open CDR in this post, clean it up
Hi Jeff
Great , cheers for those they are just what I'm looking for as a start.
I will also look into using the envelope tool and see if I can do what I'm requiring
Where do I buy or get free vectors?
Kind regards Mark
Hi Mark,
I did this one a while back with the envelope tool for each number.
The Envelope tool is the key!! just have to each number!! Can I create a macro to make life easier?
See example of one I made.
Cheers for the help.
Hi Aleem
Great dial!! I'm creating myself a Astro regulator dial.
I found a good link on youtube and followed that.I had some difficulty welding the shape together so I could use it as the envelope shape.
