Hi
I'm trying to print a flier on A6 paper on an HP CP1515n. I set the paper size in Corel 12 to A6, then set the paper size on the printer to A6. The paper feeds through very nicely - with nothing on it.
It works fine printing from MS Word so I am placing the paper correctly.
Using XP Home Edition SP 3
Please - any help you can give me would be most appreciated. I am currently printing on A4, then cutting into 4. I have found a cheap source of A6 paper but can't get my fliers to print.
As a test, try keeping your page size within CorelDraw and in the printer driver to A6, but feed an A4 sheet through the printer. I'm interested to know whether it is printing nothing at all, or is printing in the wrong place on the page.
Hi Adrian and Harry- Thanks for responding so quickly.
I've checked / done what you've recommended.
Adrian - yes Corel 12 has Layers..I normally work on only one Layer, but I did double check. It's on Page 1 with only 1 Layer which is set to Visible, Printable and Editable.
Harry - With the Paper size on the printer set to A4 the Print Preview shows it ishould print in the centre of the page - and it does.
With the Page size on the printer set to A6 it prints --- nothing.
I've tried with Word 2003 and a PDF programme and both print.
Reset your workspace, Hold F8 While the program starts.
You will however loose any customizations you have done.
Still nothing.
I think I'll try A5 and see what happens.
As a possible consolation ... I suspect that by printing as 4-up on A4 you may be using half the toner that you would use printing four times as many copies on A6.
I'm not totally certain but I think the printer probably applies toner to the full width of the drum even if it has only imaged to half of it, and the rest probably ends up in the waste toner bottle.
Anyway, back to the problem ... when you load A6 paper, does it feed in the centre of the printer or down one edge?

You would save print time. Not sure of total time since you would still have to cut the output. Each page printed requires up to 4 passes, one for each toner color. Printing 4 up would require the same number of passes and although each would take a little longer, it would be less than printing four A6 prints

Actually Harry, the toner is only deposited on the drum where it is needed.
Feeds in the centre. And as I said, the Word Doc and PDF both print correctly on the A6 feeding from the same location.

Try check Print options – Layout – Image position and size.

I hate to even suggest this, but have you double checked all your print options. Since you were printing 4 up, have you changed back to single page printing.
Are there any issues listed? Look closely in the File > Print Preview > Settings > General tab and make sure you have the corrrect printer settings under the properties button to insure you have the proper paper size and tray selected. Check under the other tabs for proper settings also.
Hi all
Thanks for all your attempts at sorting this out, but I think I will stick with printing on A4 and cutting!
I never have a problem with anyone reminding me about the basics, I have been know in my time to forget very simple things!
But unfortunatly in this case I had checked everything before I posted the message. I did re-check, but it's all set correctly and even when I set the paper size on both Corel and the printer to A6 but leave A4 paper in, it still does not print anything. Really, nothing anywhere on the paper.
I have even re-loaded Corel just in case, re-set the defaults and printed in other programs to prove it works.
Again, many thanks.
