Hi. I am a CorelDraw noob. :) I hope you don't mind me asking such a simple question. I have tried searching here and the net for an answer but haven't found an answer.
I can align text to the top of a circle. I am wondering how to align it to the bottom of a circle so that it isn't upside down.
What I am trying to achieve is two circles, (a smaller one inside a larger one). The text is written inbetween the two circles.
A title that is aligned just above the inner circle.
A message just below the inner circle, the correct way up.
I hope I have explained this correctly...
Just align the text as if you were aligning it ot the top of the circle and then grab the text and drag it to the bottom of the circle. A red line will appear when it is centered. There are 2 icons on the tool bar that are mirror text and put on other side. Use these to get your text to appear the right way for you. Then you can either drag the text away from the path or there are also 2 dimensions on the right side of the toolbar that allow you to move the text in increments. Hope this helps.
Sorry I just realized that you were using version 12. The above works for X4. In version 12 it's easier. There are icons on the toolbar that show which portion of the circle that you want the text. Just drop down the box that initially shows the curve and you will see the other 4 quadrants of the circle. Just select the one you want and the text will move there. There are also icons that say other side and variations in how you want the text to appear.
Good evening my friend.
First collect the circle and the message.
Click on Text menu "fit text to path" (u know it already..)
Notice after, in the 4th line of ur Corel the abilities u have to change ways of Letters, Distance from line,
Mirror text(2 mirrors) etc.
Play, experience with these ways and i.m sure u 'll find it.
Good luck.
NZ, here's the icon that you are looking for. It will be on your upper Property Bar when you select the Fit Text to Path option.
FYI, Fitting text to a Path is one of the processes that has been greatly improved in X3 and X4.
See? Told you this was simple... very basic. Now I feel stupid... heh heh heh... Then again, part of my job is being a comedian, so I'm used to it. This sign is a free one for a charity group, so thank you everyone so much for your help. I REALLY appreciate it. I think I clicked every button except the one I was supposed to. lol
Thank you all VERY much for taking the time to help. I really do appreciate it!!!
Actually just one more issue... This shouldn't be a problem for this project as I am using two circles and two texts, so I can get around it. I have noticed though, one I align text to the circle, if I try to fit more text to path, it says 'The object you selected is invalid'. I was trying to fit one to the top and the other to the bottom. Can you only fit one lot of text?
