Hi,
We have a terminal server for all our users. i have installed Corel Draw on for one of the users to use.
the problem is that as soon as you open CD and open a file (cdr) it closes automatically. we had it running on the other terminal server without a problem but due to server changes i had to remove and put on the new server.
one other thing is when you open CD on the server direct and not through a TS session is does the same thing
the specs for the server are
Windows 2003 Enterprise Edt SP2
Corel Draw v12.0.0.536
Hugh, plug your ears.
Reset the workspace on the server by launching Draw with the F8 key depressed. When prompted overwrite the workspace.
thanks for coming back, but it didn't work
i have narrowed it down to when i open corel photo-paint that it opens and closes
What is the server hardware spec. I have a customer who cannot run CD12 on a dual quad-core Xeon processor.
Photopaint will just not run, Draw crashes when you import an image file.
I also need a solution if it exists
(as a test Corel 9 works just fine, I recon CD 12 does not like high-end hardware !!!)
Hi everyone,
I think i have the same problem. I've installed CGS12 on a HP XW6600 Workstation with a QUAD-Xeon E5410-CPU at 2.33 GHz. The operating-system is Windows XP (32Bit) with SP3.
Draw crashes each time when I import an image file or when open a Draw-file that contains an images. It works only with images that have a 1-bit monochrome color mode.
I found out that there is one file in CorelDraw V12 that causes the problem: kodakcms.dll, the Kodak color management system library. If you have a Pentium quad processor, the system crashes after opening or importing graphics containing color. If you installed CGS12 in a default way, you find the file at C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Graphics 12\Programs. The original version of the Kodak file is 5.0.4.0. You should delete and replace this file by a newer one. Version 5.2.5.0 will do. Where can you obtain this file? Easy: it is one of the files used by a Kodak programm: Kodak EasyShare Custom Creations. You can download it from the Kodak site for free! See http://download.kodak.com/keccs/v1_0_1/rlx_kodak_install.exe. Download the program and find your file at C:\Program Files\Kodak EasyShare Custom Creations Software\kip\bin. Copy and paste. CorelDraw works again!
Just came across this when trying to install and use an old copy of CorelDraw12. It's great when people take time to share their expertise and knowledge! Thanks!!
