Image disappears when cropping

I'm using Corel Draw X3 and I think you're right regarding the PDF.  While cropping a pdf, the problem occurred, but cropping a psd or jpg, no problem.

Guess that bug has been around longer than I though! I first became
aware of it in X4--probably because that was when I was being inundated
with PDFs generated by Solidworks which are a blend of curves and
bitmaps--the good news was that those PDFs all opened/imported perfectly
in X4; the "what the ?????" was that cropping the embedded bitmaps made
them disappear completely. (to say nothing of course of the often noted
quirk of PDFs themselves of having all lines of a given weight as one
curve stretching throughout the entire diagram, but that's just the
nature of a "print" that is created and then used as input.)

That mechanical manufacturing job has now progressed to the point where
I no longer have to worry about that aspect; now my worries are sales
brochures and packaging so no more (for a while at least) worries about
importing PDFs with "pretty" bit map components representing 3D views or
appearance views.
