I'm considering X3, and my first test was to read old cdr files which I made with ver 3.0
Is it possible at all ?
I realize this thread is over 13 years old. I've just come upon some old CDF files left by a dear friend who passed. I've tried to open the files in Adobe Illustrator and a just-downloaded free trial of CorelDRAW 2020, and neither will open them. When attempting to open in CorelDRAW 2020 I'm getting an error message "This file was last saved in version 3.0. Files from CorelDRAW 5 and earlier versions are no longer supported and cannot be opened or imported in CorelDRAW version 22.1."
I've been Googling around looking for solutions. I see suggestions to try and purchase old computers and old copies of earlier versions of CorelDRAW, but this sounds like an expensive and frustrating journey. Has anything happened in the past 13 years?
CorelDRAW 5 and CorelDRAW 9 run well on my windows7. I don't think you should bye an old computer.
Hey thanks for responding.
I'm actually a mac user so I'd have to pick up something to run it on. Do you know if CorelDRAW 5 and 9 will both open the version 3 file? Would make sense to get the latest version that will do the job.
