Hello,
I am having trouble opening up cdr files as they take very long time to open (around 20-25 min per file of 5-10 MB).
Following are my system specs:
>Intel Pentium 4 - 3GHz, 2 GB RAM,
>Windows XP SP2
>Coral Draw X3 installed
I have already tried deleting unnecessary fonts, views and color styles. I also restored corel to factory defaults (using F8 key at startup) but some cdr files still take a long time to open.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Sandeep
I don't believe its an Antivirus Software problem seeing that the new file format (disguised zip) was introduced in version 14...not too sure.
Have you tried disconnecting your network cable to rule that out?
Is the file on another networked PC?
Try a cold boot of your computer.
Blow away the C:\Windows\Temp files.
Check to be sure you have enough hard drive space and swapfile and RAM.
Do a cleanup of your hard drive... defrag and all. Check its health.
Do a virus scan and all... Trend Micro (trendmicro.com) have a free checkup facility online.
Reinstall Corel Graphics Suite X3.
There's a myriad of things that could be affecting the performance hit you're taking.
Someone may show up on the Forum that's had your specific problem and have the magic formula that works for you.

Hi,
Color Styles ( Window / Dockers / Color Styles) or saved Views (Ctrl+F2) might be the issue - delete them all.
Oops!... have just re-read the original post - you've done that already
Can you share one of these files?
Try adding Corel applications to your AV exclusions list. It may help but, base on the time it takes to open, I do not thing this is the whole problem.
Can you post one of the problem files to one of the File Share services and post a link to it. so we can see if we can locate any problem areas. There are several Free File Share Services.
